Terme 3000 – Moravske Toplice: What Awaits You

Terme 3000 is located in Moravske Toplice in Prekmurje, about 6 kilometers northeast of Murska Sobota. The thermal resort is operated by Sava Turizem and includes several hotels, an apartment complex, a campground, and a large thermal water park.

Its main feature is the black thermomineral water that springs from deep sources beneath Moravske Toplice. Due to its high concentration of active substances, it is often referred to as “black gold.” It is used in rehabilitation following injuries and surgeries of the musculoskeletal system, for various forms of rheumatism, and for certain skin conditions—usually in combination with peloid (therapeutic mud) and physical therapy.

What stands out most at Terme 3000:

  • A thermal water park with indoor and outdoor pools, a water slide complex, and children’s pools—a classic choice for families.
  • Black thermal mineral water, which is rare in Europe in terms of its composition.
  • A wellness and medical-wellness center offering saunas, massages, and beauty treatments.
  • The 18-hole Livada Golf Course is located in the immediate vicinity.
  • Prekmurje cuisine — bograč, gibanica, dödöli, and local wines.

A Day at the Thermal Spa, an Evening of Wine: A Suggested Two-Day Itinerary

If you want to make the most of your visit to Prekmurje and Prlekija, here’s a tried-and-true weekend itinerary that we recommend to our guests.

Day 1 — Water and the Plain

Morning: a trip to Moravske Toplice. Terme 3000 is the perfect place to spend a relaxing morning in the black thermal mineral water—the pools are warm even during the off-season, and there are water slides and shallow pools for children.

Lunch: Prekmurje bograč or dödöli at one of the restaurants near Moravske Toplice.

Afternoon: a stop in Murska Sobota — the Expano observation tower by Lake Sobota or a walk through the park near Sobota Castle.

In the evening: a drive south, through Ljutomer, into the hills of Jerusalem. The sun setting over the vineyards is the complete opposite of the morning’s flat landscape.

Day 2 — Hills and Wine

Morning: breakfast with a view, followed by a walk or bike ride along the Jerusalem Wine Route —one of the most beautiful wine routes in Slovenia.

Morning/Noon: Tasting of Furmint (Šipon), Yellow Muscat, and Laski Riesling at local wineries.

Afternoon: swimming in the infinity pool overlooking the vineyards, sauna, and massage—a peaceful, boutique-style counterpoint to the water park.

In the evening: dinner featuring flavors from the Prlekija and Prekmurje regions, along with a glass of wine from the very same hillside you can see through the window.
